The roofing corny corrugated board has many adherents among developers. This inexpensive and reliable material looks spectacular on houses erected in different architectural styles: classic or modern. Thanks to the use of the latest polymer coatings, the profiled sheet is distinguished by a variety of colors.
The foundation. The main material for roofing corrugated board is a galvanized steel sheet. On sale also presents sheet steel products covered with a protective layer of alumocylic. The optimal thickness of the profiled sheet is 0.5 mm, but a thicker corrugated board is produced by a special order – 1.0 mm thick or thinner – 0.4 mm thick.
Type of coating. In the process of production, the steel sheet is covered with zinc or aluminum (zinc alloy with aluminum), then passivated and primed. At the final stage, a layer of polymer material is applied to the front side of the prepared sheet, and a layer of protective varnish is applied to the back. Corrugated board with a decorative coating can have more than 20 different colors. Economic options for roofing corrugated board are covered with only one layer of alumocylic or zinc, so they do not have such a colorful look. Alumocycle coating products may slightly differ in shades, which is caused by different prescription content of aluminum, zinc and silicon. The durability of a cheap roof from a galvanized sheet is not very high, so it requires care and staining.
Profile height. This value varies in the interval from 2 to 55 mm. For thinner sheets, a profile of lower depth is provided, and for thicker ones – more depths. Profiled sheet manufacturers indicate the depth of the stamp in the names of the products, placing it next to the marking of letters.
The profile height indicator must correspond to the shape of the roof on which the sheets will be laid. When erecting a roof of a private house, it is recommended to use the roofing corny with a medium wave – from 12 to 20 mm. Samples of sheets with a lower profile have slight stiffness, so it is better to mount them on the roofs of household buildings.
The weight. The larger the thickness of the base and the depth of the profile, the greater the weight of the profiled sheet. A light corrugated board is presented on sale, the weight of 1 m² of such material reaches 4 kg, and a heavy one – weighing 7 kg.
The sizes of sheets. Manufacturers produce narrow and wide sheets 50 and 165 cm wide, respectively. The length of the profiled sheet is also very different. The buyer can choose products 12 m long or 90 cm, as well as order sheets cut in accordance with the dimensions of the roof slopes of his house.
The density of the joints. The presence of dense joints provides the possibility of laying corrugated board. From some manufacturers, you can purchase profiled sheets with a groove (capillary groove) designed to drain water. During installation, such a groove is covered with a neighboring sheet.
