Most of the latest technologies in crane construction and lifting technique are associated with electronics, as well as modern developments in mechanical nodes of machines. It seems that it would be useful to familiarize yourself with some innovations used by foreign designers of leading firms in the world in the production of new models of this type of equipment or modernize existing samples.
Today it is unlikely that anyone will dispute the fact that progress in digital electronics is much faster than it was expected several years ago. Similar progress is observed in the technology of materials. For example, the creation of high -quality steels with a fluidity limit of 1100 n/mm sq. means that the thickness and weight of structural elements of machines are reduced while maintaining the necessary strength. Due to this, the size of the telescopic arrow of the crane can be increased, and the weight of its chassis for this reason, on the contrary, can be reduced while maintaining increased rigidity. Currently, further optimization of structures and mechanical components is taking place, new areas of use of electronics appear to control operations and provide the operator with the necessary information.
More and more attention is paid to the coordination of all functions of mobile machines. In the field of electronic control and the functionality of the crane, such systems as VDO MOKI communication system, TEREX-DEMAG Control System and Inter Control’s Total Control become available for the security and convenience of the operator. All these systems use the latest Canbus technology. Moki, or Mobile Sommunikation (mobile communications) is also a completely new concept for the Driver-Machine interface.
We’ll talk about management in the next article.
