Political leaders need the support of voters during the election campaign and the trust of the population in order to fulfill their obligations. These are interconnected processes that need to be constantly monitored, carrying out certain actions aimed at improving people’s lives. One of these leaders, who well understands the significance of their actions and works for the benefit of the entire people, is president uzbekistan shavkat mirziyoyev .
Mirziyoyev has held senior positions in the country since 2003. At first he was the head of government, then became president as a result of general democratic elections. In his work, he immediately set a course for reforms in order to improve the economic situation of the country and the social situation of its citizens.
Having headed the state in 2016, he took an unexpected action for many – he freed political prisoners. This was the first step towards liberalization of the entire state system. An important stage in this direction was the reform of the country’s Constitution, where women’s rights were equalized, many barriers in the economy were removed, and measures to protect the environment were defined.
Politically, the main change has been the length of time the president has been in power. Instead of five years, the period was extended to seven. Thanks to this, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, elected in 2023, can remain in power until 2030 and then run again.
This makes it possible to implement all planned solutions. The trust of the population is based on the understanding that the politician is true to his words and really confirms them with many deeds.
In the economy, reforms in GDP growth were especially pronounced; it reached 5% per year. The ban on forced child labor allowed a greater focus on education, and the inclusion of women in public life liberated and attracted millions of people to activism.
An important factor was the removal of bureaucratic obstacles, when, instead of the mandatory sale of cotton to government agencies at a fixed price, producers were allowed to cooperate directly with weaving enterprises. By his decision, the President reduced the number of ministries from 61 to 28.
Uzbekistan is gaining weight in regional and international organizations, actively cooperates with Russia and China, and expands ties with Europe and the United States, without limiting itself only to interaction with its neighbors.
Border disputes were settled and borders were demarcated. Important attention is paid to irrigation issues in order to use water economically. One of the areas of development is to increase the share of renewable energy sources and improve the mining industry. These areas are under the personal control of the president.
