But, unfortunately, there are such people and the majority of them, who have years and even decades from setting the goal to its implementation to life. What is the matter? Really those who quickly reach their plan are just so lucky? Of course not. As psychologists say, the secret to achieving goals is very simple – they need to learn to set correctly. So, let’s figure out this issue and understand how to set goals correctly.
The first and very important rule says that the goal should be positive, that is, it should not have a denial and a particle “not”. So, the following can be attributed to improperly set goals – “I do not want to live in the village”, “I do not want to spend the holidays at home” or “I do not want to be afraid of my boss”. These negative goals are formulated so that the task itself becomes incomprehensible – for example, if a person does not want to live in the village, then it is not known where he wants to live – in the nearest city, or, perhaps, in another country. Therefore, the human subconscious is simply incomprehensible what to strive for.
If you begin to try to formulate your goals in a positive way, then, most likely, you will first encounter certain difficulties – after all, from childhood we are inspired by thoughts with the prefix “not” – do not run, do not be fighting, do not curse, do not cry. Therefore, goals without this particle will first be perceived by you – be ready for this.
Setting yourself a goal and trying to make it achievable, make sure that it is not ephemeral and uncontrolled. You must clearly understand how and with the help of what or whom will you realize it. Think about how and how you can measure your goal in order to understand if it has been achieved completely. So, for example, if you set yourself the task of getting rich, then an increase in your income, for example, 10 rubles, will not mean its achievement at all. This example clearly shows why the criteria are so important by which you can judge whether the goal is achieved or not.
According to psychologists, such goals are easily embodied, the ways of which are in the human personal control zone. People who are far from psychology will have a logical question – what is this zone? The answer is simple – this is what a person can personally affect. For example, you personally cannot turn off loud music from your neighbors, so this goal should not be set. But you can personally turn to them with a request to reduce the sound volume of their favorite tunes. Such a specific and located in your personal zone, the task, of course, is easy to fulfill.
So that a person has a desire to realize the goals, he should simply like these goals. If, for example, your subconscious mind stubbornly repeats to you that you do not want to occupy a leading position and are afraid to take responsibility, then do not set yourself the task of taking the head of the boss – most likely, you will go to its decision for a very long time.
And the last council of experienced experts tells us that it is impossible to set goals that do not concern you personally, but other people – to manage others, unfortunately, is not given to you, and, accordingly, such a task will be not enough. You want to receive more? Then you do not need to say to yourself: “I want the boss to raise my salary” – this is fundamentally wrong and cannot be realized directly by you. I must say to myself: “I want to earn more”, think about what ways this goal will be realized, and then soon you may become one of the highest paid employees in your team.
